Ronald Reagan Blvd. expansion underway Williamson County officials celebrated the con- struction beginning on the expansion of Ronald Reagan Boulevard on Aug. 26. About the project From FM 3405 to Hwy. 29, contractors will build a new two-lane roadway that will eventually serve southbound traffic only, according to a county news release. The existing road will then be transformed to serve all northbound traffic. The project also includes turn lanes, a middle divider and shoulders. “It will provide welcome relief to the residents in the area and the commuters who use this road daily,” Precinct 2 Commissioner Cynthia Long said in a release. Funding for the $52.1 million project was approved by voters in 2019 as part of the William- son County Road Bond, which totaled $412 million.

Gattis School Road to widen to six lanes Traffic patterns will continue to shift as Round Rock moves forward with widening Gattis School Road between Windy Park Drive and Cedar Ridge High School. The details City crews began work Aug. 28. As the project progresses, ongoing changes to the road’s traffic pattern are expected. About the project The project will take about two years to complete. Gattis School will eventually be a six-lane divided road, with this section including right and left turn bays at A.W. Grimes Boulevard and Double Creek Drive. Plans include a raised center median with open- ings at Joyce Lane and South Creek Drive.

The Texas Department of Transportation, local developers and the city of Georgetown also contributed towards right-of-way and utility relocation costs. Construction on this section of Ronald Reagan Boulevard is expected to be completed by summer 2027, according to the release. However, county officials continue to eye the Ronald Reagan corridor for future plans, as the route provides a main thoroughfare for drivers in this part of Williamson County.
