Vector Brewing Brewing enthusiast brings passion for beer to Lake Highlands

BY ALEXANDER WILLIS

W ith years of experience working for Lakewood Brewing Co. under his belt, Dallas resident Craig Bradley had his sights set on owning a brewpub he could call his own. Having worked at the brewery since 2012—he left in 2018 to open his own brewpub in Lake Highlands—and after years of preparation, Bradley was set to launch Vector Brewing alongside his wife, Veronica, in April 2020. Opening a new brewpub during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic had its diculties, he said. Nev- ertheless, the Bradleys managed to quickly adapt by canning many of their beer oerings and making them available to go, a practice the brewpub continues to this day.

Vector Brewing 9850 Walnut Hill Lane, Ste. 405, Dallas 469-676-0797 www.vectorbrewing.com Hours: Mon.-Thu. 4–10 p.m., Fri. 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Sat. 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Sun. 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Angry Bee ($17): This pizza has a house Alfredo sauce, spinach, shaved habanero, hot glitter honey drizzle and edible ower.

Nestled on the southeast corner of Walnut Hill Lane and Audelia Road, Vector Brewing oers a range of food, including appetizers, such as the herbed sourdough cheese-lled So-Fried Onions, pastas such as the Papa Carlo with spicy pork sausage and fettuccine noodles, and its trademark Stone Deck pizzas. Made with ingredients procured from local farms, popular pizzas include the Angry Bee, made from house-made alfredo sauce, shaved habanero and a hot glitter honey drizzle, as well as the Fine Swine, a pizza covered with housemade crumbled pork sausage, smoked bacon and caramelized onions. Bradley said Vector Brewing’s main draw, however, is its beers.

“We have a variety of beers that you probably won’t see in a lot of other breweries,” Bradley said. “As breweries, we always have a love for making beer, and you fall into a trap sometimes of making what you feel people all want to drink the same. We believe that there is a market for a lot of dierent tastes and dierent kinds of [beer].” The brewpub regularly swaps out its beer oerings while at the same time retaining a few customer favorites. Vector Brewing has oered around 200 dierent beer varieties since its launch, though it typically oers 15 selections at any given time, and due to the pandemic, the brewpub is equipped to oer any of its beers to go.
