Not only that, but especially with the COVID-19 pandemic, his facility and the sport in general has experienced a huge business boom, he added, with people seeking outdoor activities in which social distancing is possible. In addition to the two disc golf courses, the 25 acres of land is also home to a playground for kids, other games such as bocce ball and cornhole, an observation tower three stories high and campgrounds that are open year round.

miles from Texas State University is now 25 acres of disc golf courses, camping sites, games and more. Michael Lambert, owner and operator of Flying Armadillo Disc Golf Club and a Texas State alum, quit his day job over seven years ago and invested his savings into turning a fond family memory into reality. When he was younger, Lambert and his family would play disc golf and camp at a course in Wimberley. He, his family and his team have worked since beginning the project in 2014 to bring the sport to others. It took around two years to get the facility up and running after
The smaller course, the “putt- putt” course as Lambert calls it, takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour to complete and features sculptures and unique art meant to serve as obstacles. “The putt-putt course is great for getting kids and beginners introduced to it and entertaining them while not taking a long time,” he said. The larger course takes about two hours to complete, depending on the number of players and their skill level. Due to the lengths of the courses and the property, Lambert noted that
