Clear Creek ISD offers free, reduced meals

SanJac begins drone usage in criminal justice courses John White, a San Jacinto College criminal justice professor, completed drone certifi- cation training at the College’s EDGE Center to share his expertise with his students, according to an August news release. Long story short White said drones will assist the criminal justice program by helping students master skills in public safety situations, such as searching for escaped inmates, car accident scenes or gathering evidence. “Now it’s not just something I’ve heard of but something I’ve accomplished, and it gives me a new thing to teach the students that is relevant to their other coursework,” White said.

Clear Creek ISD students who cannot afford full-price meals may qualify for free or reduced- price meals during the 2025-26 school year, per a July 31 news release from the district. The details Reduced prices are $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch. Eligibility is based on household size and income, and families must apply at www.schoolcafe.com. Families can submit an application that includes their Eligibility Determination Group number if they are enrolled in programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations. Once submitted, the application will be reviewed by a district specialist. Those dissatisfied with any ruling may call the district to discuss the decision or make a formal appeal, officials said.
