that keeps customers coming back. “We go out of our way to say, ‘If we don’t have it, I can order it for you,’” Stall said. “We’ve done this for years and years, so we have lots of vendors.” Services oered at Stall Jewelers include custom jewelry design, full-service repair and restoration. Stall said she also walks people through custom jewelry orders to ensure her customers can have the exact piece they want. Following a consultation to determine clients’ needs, those seeking custom jewelry made can expect a turnaround time of several weeks, depending on the availability of materials, she said. Some customers bring reference images to histor- ical pieces they would like to have recreated. “I have this customer that I do a lot of her pieces based on those worn by Queen Elizabeth and Victoria,” Stall said. “Her pieces were very unique. Then, there’ll be some big investments. We create some big sales. My most beautiful diamond that I ever sold was a gorgeous 10 carat.” Originally from San Antonio, Stall said before she married her husband and they went into the jew- elry business together, she wanted to be a secretary. The skills she needed for that job translated well to sales, and they turned into a 39-year career through their business, where she has served families for generations, she said. “I have customers [who] I knew their children when they were little,” she said. “They come now with those children, and then they also have grandchildren.”

going strong at Stall Jewelers. On Sept. 26, a driver crashed through the front of the store, stopping near the shop’s break room. Stall Jewelers remained closed until Nov. 23 and nished nal repairs to the store in January. Stall said she was sitting at her desk when the accident occurred and as a result sustained injuries from which she has since recovered. “She was coming at me [at] like 55 miles an hour,” Stall said. “She just came and destroyed the whole thing, all the way to the back or our shop, our oce, the showcases and merchandise.” Stall said she had made up all the losses from the crash by December. A loyal customer base waited out the repairs and kept their business with the locally owned retailer, which has served Round Rock since 1982, she said. In its rst iteration, Eric and Norma Stall opened the jewelry store near RM 620 and Lake Creek Drive in 1982 before relocating to a space in the Round Rock West shopping center. The store, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in September, oers a wide variety of precious and semiprecious stones, but specializes in diamonds. Stall designs many custom orders herself. Stall said she sees new customers every day with referrals bringing them in from as far away as Temple. She added it is her sta’s dedication to service
