BY CARSON GANONG

According to a city presentation, an average household using 6,000 gallons of water and 5,000 gallons of wastewater will see a reduction in its monthly bill of around $15. Council members made other amendments to the fee schedule, including eliminating a licensing fee for businesses that serve alcohol and eliminating library late fees. All previous library late fees have been forgiven, but patrons are still responsible for lost or damaged items.

HUTTO Following a slew of amend- ments to the city of Hutto’s fee schedule, residents can expect lower water bills this year. Hutto City Council approved the amendments at a Dec. 16 meeting, and they went into effect Jan. 1. The most substantial change to the fee schedule was a reworking of water rates, lowering rates for monthly uses below 12,000 gallons and slightly raising rates for uses above 25,000 gallons.
