The business is a oral and bakery shop combo that features cake pops, cookies and cakes alongside oering premade bouquets as well as catering and ower shipments. Moore said while living in Florida, her mom reached out with the business opportunity. Unaware of where the business would lead, Moore decided to join her mom on the business adventure. After two years, Moore said her mom has decided to return to teaching English, leaving Moore as the owner of the business. “I was teaching history in Florida,” Moore said. “I even- tually moved back [to Texas] and started doing little bakery stu, and then I learned some of the oral stu. ... So now I’m just kind of stepping into the owner role and running [the business].” Moore said the biggest chal- lenge to running the business has been transitioning from an employee to owner. It wasn’t like a big business with actual employ- ees, so [Bakers Bouquet] has been totally dierent.” The business has two orists who work on the bouquets, but Moore said if there’s ever an occasion a orist is not available, she and her mom will step in. On the baking side, Moore said she is constantly adapting the menu to reect items in season or improve recipes. Wanting more out of the business, Moore said she has ideas to change the exterior and interior of the shop to transform it into an eclec- tic-modern style business. Moore said her hope for the business is that it will be a place for groups to pursue gatherings and hangouts. To entice customers to enjoy the space, Moore said she is exper- imenting on one day opening a full coee bar. “We want people to come in, get dessert, and stay and talk,” Moore said. “Come spend time here.”
