The traveling museum examines the history and migration of six Native American tribes in Texas, with an emphasis on each tribe’s culture and lifestyle. The presentation also discusses the impact of European colonization and the settlement of Texas on Native American tribes. 7 p.m. Free. The Flower Mound Parks and Recreation Department will hold a free open house at the Community Activity Center. The open house is a way to promote health and make it a priority in 2023. JANUARY 16 CELEBRATE MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. M. L. King Jr. Day at the 30th annual celebration. The committee chose the theme of “Living the Dream: It Takes a Team.” This civic event is planned as a non-political interfaith event to celebrate the ideals of King such as elimination of all forms of prejudice, equality of races and international peace. 6 p.m. Free. The event is lled with story, ritual and remembrance. The event is presented by Violet Ne -Helms, vice president of Teach the Shoah Foundation and co-author of the book “Light from the Darkness: A Ritual for Holocaust Remembrance.” This program is appropriate for ages 13 and older. 7-8:30 p.m.
