Missouri City to consider calling November bond
FOR 55+ ACTIVE ADULTS IN HOUSTON, TX
The bond package could include several key project proposals for mobility/street reconstruction, utilities, parks, facilities and public safety with several levels of impact, Director of Public Works Mustafa Albassam said.
Missouri City voters could see a special bond election on November ballots after City Council directed staff May 18 to move forward with developing a potential five-year capital improvement bond program.
The balanced community investment program proposes a more comprehensive long-term strategy with moderate financial impact addressing city needs such as: • Transportation and mobility • Parks and recreation • Public safety and facility expansion The core infrastructure program proposes a conservative approach with lower financial impact by encompassing critical infrastructure and essential needs to address the highest priority needs, including: • Street rehabilitation/reconstruction • Critical utility infrastructure • Safety-related transportation improvements The comprehensive and transformational program would represent a long-term investment to position the city for future growth, including: • Major transportation improvements • Parks and recreational facilities • Public safety and facility expansion • Economic development supporting infrastructure
