The new hospital will offer inpatient, specialty and emergency services, said Matthew Olivolo, a media spokesperson for BS&W. “The new Baylor Scott & White campus … will be critical to the health care infrastructure needed to support the area’s anticipated population,” he said in an email. Inpatient discharges in Frisco are expected to grow nearly 18% by 2030, according to BS&W’s Community Health Needs Assessment published in 2022. Collin County meets the state and national benchmarks for the ratio of patients to primary care physicians, according to BS&W data. However, the county’s population could nearly double by 2060. Denton County does not meet either benchmark and is also projected to double in population by 2060, according to BS&W data. Frisco, which is in both counties, is estimated to reach a population of about 325,000 at buildout sometime after 2030.
