Pat’s Place dishes out classic comfort food in New Braunfels Since opening in 1977, Pat’s Place has served New Braunfels with pride and tradition, providing the classic comfort food experience with a Texas inspired air. Owners Heather and David Larson said it is a place where locals call home.
The background The Larsons took ownership of Pat’s Place in 2022 and were given a unique challenge—main- taining a storied tradition but also keeping up with the times. The Larsons said that they wanted to keep Pat’s Place how it always was, but also allow it to grow as the future progresses. “Just keeping it family-oriented and still bring- ing it forward has been the biggest challenge,” co-owner Heather Larson said. As a result, they’ve added two new bar areas called Pat’s Prohibition and the outdoor Pat’s Tree Haus over the past year.
Must-try menu items The restaurant’s menu is packed with about 120 items, oering a diverse selection ranging from Tex-Mex to spaghetti to traditional sandwiches. Customer favorites include the burger menu, enchilada plates, Pat’s Meatloaf and chicken fried steak, Larson said. “Everything is homestyle comfort food,” she said. Pat’s Place also added a brunch menu—which is available on weekends—with dishes like chicken & waes, Oma’s Breakfast Casserole and the classic all-American breakfast with eggs, bacon, hash browns or toast.
