Friendswood ISD board of trustees, Position 1
What changes, if any, would you like to see with the district’s budget? I would like to ensure we are utilizing the available funds in an equitable way such that we are able to impact the greatest number of students. We need to take personal interests and outside influences out of the financial decision making process.
What are your priorities if elected?
My main goals are to reestablish the academic rigor that pushes our students to unimaginable heights, ensure we are a fiscally responsible district, develop a culture of great leaders and empower them to lead their campuses, and give our teachers and coaches autonomy to do what they do best.

When elected, I’ll prioritize FISD students by fostering a safe, supportive environment where they excel academically and discover their passions. I’ll ensure teachers feel seen, valued and connected while advocating for the release of state funding to provide well-deserved salary increases and improve the resources for our schools.
We’ve balanced the district’s budget this year, while maintaining a focus on competitive salaries and affordable insurance for all staff. Friendswood ISD board of trustees, Position 2
What changes, if any, would you like to see with the district’s budget? The district’s budget should prioritize competitive salaries for all staff. We need to continue to advocate at the state level for increased student allotments and full mandate funding. Enhanced funding will enable reduced class sizes and second planning period for teachers; therefore, improving learning environments, staff retention and student outcomes. There is a business component to FISD. Spending the tax revenue collected from the citizens of Friendswood is a serious responsibility. First, I would eliminate over-spending and stay out of debt, only spend what monies you actually have. Second, I would allocate more funds for Westwood [Elementary], Bales [Intermediate] and Windsong [Elementary].
What are your priorities if elected?
My commitment remains to ensuring that every student receives a high-quality education in a safe environment, our teachers and staff feel seen, heard and connected and that our school district continues to be a source of pride for our community.

Prioritize teacher voices in the education process. Allow teacher input without fear or consequence. Eliminate male students from using female restrooms and locker rooms regardless of how they identify. The [U.S.] Supreme Court overturned this area of Title IX but FISD has not done so. Return to the traditional grading.
