CITY HIGHLIGHTS PFLUGERVILLE At a May 24 meeting, City Council approved a $480,289.50 agreement with Dig Dug Construction LLC for a trail improvement project. The project began in June and is expected to be complete in December. Construction will focus on replacing some sections of several of the city’s existing trails. City of Hutto announces four nal city manager candidates

HUTTO Ocials have narrowed a search for a new city manager down to four candidates. The city announced the names of the four nalists June 23: James Earp, Manuel De La Rosa, Richard Beverlin III and Tarron Richardson. Earp is the assistant city manager in Kyle and the director of the North Texas Certied Public Manager Program. De La Rosa has more than 35 years

of municipal experience and serves as city manager in San Benito. Beverlin, the city manager in Leander, has more than 20 years of municipal experience.

Richardson is program and opera- tions manager in Richmond, Virginia. The city held a reception June 29 for residents to meet the candidates and provide feedback.

Firms report progress on Hutto water and wastewater master plan

Garver representative Ian Toohey said the city’s waste- water treatment capacity is set to fall behind as soon as next year. Christiansen said the rm’s work so far has largely consisted of analyzing the city’s water supply and creating water demand projections through 2047. Public Works and Engineering Director Wade Benton said the goal is to have a list of actionable water and wastewater projects in October.

HUTTO Representatives from engineering rms Freese & Nichols and Garver updated Hutto City Council on their progress in assessing water needs through the city’s water and wastewater master plan at a June 16 meeting. Dave Christiansen, an engineer at Freese & Nichols, said the rm is predicting a near-term shortfall in the city’s water production, but they are working with city sta to nd solutions.
