Blueberry Batting Cages fosters young athletes Owner Jim Squires said he opened Blueberry Batting Cages in north Houston to provide a safe and aordable place for aspiring baseball and softball players to hone their skills. The backstory Squires began playing baseball when he was 5 years old, and continued to play throughout college and into adulthood. After working in oil and gas, he decided to merge his two passions— baseball and marketing—to start his own business. The details Blueberry Batting Cages oers token-operated automatic pitching machines, practice cage rentals, and baseball and softball lessons. Since opening in March, Squires said the facility has been heavily utilized by local high school and Little League teams.
