Shenandoah city administrator resigns after 18 years of service The city of Shenandoah announced the resigna- tion of City Administrator Kathie Reyer on Oct. 8 after 18 years with the city, citing health reasons. The details Reyer has served as city administrator for the past eight years, leading eorts to strengthen city oper- ations, build partnerships with community stake- holders and guide Shenandoah through periods of growth, according to an Oct. 8 news release. Positions she has previously held include city secretary, public information ocer and assistant director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau. “I am deeply proud of what we have accom- plished together and of the culture of teamwork and innovation that has taken root at City Hall,” Reyer said in the release.
E-vehicle safety campaign yields data The Woodlands Township ocials on Sept. 25 gave an update on the education campaign to raise awareness for safety on the trails for electric vehicles. What to know Director of Communications LeaAnn Petersen said the campaign has been posted regularly on township social media posts and reels scheduled every Monday and Friday to reach varied audiences. The plan runs through December, with a comprehensive campaign report to be provided in January, Petersen said. Petersen said 87.35% of incidents involved people not wearing helmets, and 43.8% involved individuals ages 13-19. “In the month of August, the majority of incidents were on electric devices,” Petersen said.

Quote of note In the release, Mayor John Escoto praised Reyer’s commitment to residents. “Kathie’s leadership has been invaluable to Shenandoah,” Escoto said in the release. “She has steered our city with vision, professionalism and grace, always putting the needs of our residents rst. We are deeply grateful for her dedication and service.” What’s next City Council on Oct. 8 appointed Public Works Director Joseph Peart as interim city administrator. Steps to ll the role permanently were not outlined during the meeting.
