ORN Plaza District breaks ground

An announcement of what businesses are planned for Phase 1 of the ORN Plaza District will soon be made public, Identity Architects said in early October. intersection of Robinson and Hanna roads, and it will include multiple retail centers, a new city hall and professional oces, according to information from Oak Ridge North. “The Plaza District is more than a project. It is the heart of our city, where restaurants, shops, businesses, The Plaza District will be a redeveloped area along the walking spaces and open areas all connect us,” Mayor Paul Bond said at the event. “It’s where Oak Ridge North shows who we are, a community with the hometown feel, yet with the vision to grow and prosper.”

The Plaza District commercial zone was established in 2013 for Town Center development in the city, as previously reported by Community Impact . “When I rst started, I thought we’d be standing here with a shovel in hand in about two years ... but the thing is that I would have to say that patience makes the payo sweeter,” said Keenon Raynor, co-founder of Identity Architects.

Oak Ridge North held its groundbreaking event Oct. 1 for the ORN Plaza District along with its design architect, Identity Architects, a Houston-based company. The groundbreaking marked the beginning of Phase 1 of the 60,000-square-foot, $6 million Plaza District. According to information from the city, the Plaza District will feature restaurants with patios overlooking the green space.
