FISD approves new pre-K teacher position Friendswood ISD’s board of trustees approved at its July 21 meeting an additional pre-K unit to address the surge in pre-K enrollment for the 2025- 26 school year. The growth stems from House Bill 2, which now allows children of public school teachers to qualify for free pre-K, district ocials said. In a nutshell According to an enrollment projection relayed July 14, FISD expects one additional pre-K student in 2025-26 compared to the 2024-25 school year. Superintendent Thad Roher noted at the July 21 meeting that eight teachers at FISD will now be able to enroll their children in pre-K with the new eligibility requirements. The new pre-K spot will cost the district $73,000 and will be paid through the district’s general fund for scal year 2025-26, according to
