Independence Park in Pearland could get new lake

The project is estimated to cost $750,000. The grant would require a 50% match from the city, which could total around $375,000, according to city documents. City documents state Pearland lacks “an acces- sible and inclusive space for on-water experiences and peaceful outdoor retreat.” Looking ahead The application for the project was due to the TPWD on Aug. 1, according to city documents.
