The median cost of rent in Plano raised by 34.74% from 2018 to 2023, according to newly released U.S. census data. Two-minute impact Median rent in Plano rose by more than $460 over the five-year span. The largest single-year increase occurred from 2021 to 2022, when the median rent rose from $1,541 to $1,699. From 2018 to 2023, Collin and Denton Coun- ty’s median rent grew by 38.17% and 40.22%, respectively. Diving deeper Plano’s median rent of $1,792 in 2023 was exactly the same as the overall median in Collin County, and higher than Denton County’s, which was $1,642.

paying between $1,000-$2,499, but a much larger portion were paying less than $1,000 than in 2023. The 6,780 paying less than $1,000 monthly in rent made up 16.52% of Plano renters in 2018, while only 3.23% of renters were paying less than $1,000 in 2023, the new data states.
Of the 46,837 renters in Plano in 2023, 83.62% were paying between $1,000-$2,499 monthly. Per the census data, 16,811 renters paid between $1,500-$1,999, which was the most for any range of $500. In 2018, 79.22% of 41,036 Plano renters were
