CEDAR PARK Austin’s neighbor to the northwest, Cedar Park’s population continues to grow. Incorporated in 1973, the city will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023. Named for a park on the railroad line in the late 1800s, the city's Parks & Recreation Department now maintains 46 parks as well as the Cedar Park Sculpture Garden, which features a rotating selection of art.

LEANDER With room to grow, Leander’s population increased by about 60% in the last Œve years. Established in 1882 and incorporated in 1978, the community has roots in the history of the Austin and the Northwest Railroad. Lakewood Park is one of Leander’s 14 parks, comprising 125 of the city’s 400 acres of parkland.
