‘Edutainment’ playground Cheeky Monkeys provides unique indoor play space
Cheeky Monkeys opened a location in Col- leyville in May 2024, providing a place for toddlers to older children to play, enjoy special events and celebrate birthdays. Naji Khattar is a father of two and the chief executive o cer at Cheeky Monkeys for locations across Texas. Khattar described the business as a “happy place” and said he was motivated to work there because of its family brand. What’s special about it? Cheeky Monkeys has an “edutainment” play- ground where kids can interact in house-like areas, obstacle courses and do activities that help with cognitive development. “We refuse to put screens in our locations. We want to go back to the roots,” Khattar said. The Colleyville location has one of the tallest playgrounds of all the Cheeky Monkeys locations, Khattar said. Most locations have two oors, while the Colleyville location has three. Cheeky Monkeys’ playgrounds also have slides, a ball pit and private rooms for birthday parties. Digging deeper Khattar said the Colleyville location isn’t the busiest location, but the family-centered commu- nity was appealing to him when it came to opening a new playground in Dallas-Fort Worth. “We noticed [Colleyville residents] crave high-quality products. They want something other than the usual,” Khattar said. Cheeky Monkeys has eight locations in Dal- las-Fort Worth, including spots in Plano, Fort Worth and Highland Village.
Cheeky Monkeys has a variety of playground activities and obstacle courses that includes slides and immersive playrooms.
