Not all heroes wear crepes—at Phoebe’s Diner, breakfast is served daily until the eatery closes at 3 p.m., aording those who are not early birds a chance to enjoy the most important meal of the day. Phoebe’s Diner opened at Gracy Farms in January. The restaurant is the brainchild of restaurateurs and brothers Robert and Eric Tran, along with Quang Chau, Aaron Rash and Camden Stuerzenberger. “This neighborhood holds a special place in my heart since it was the rst one I moved to when I rst came to Austin in 2002,” Stuerzenberger said in a news release. “We are thrilled to become a part of the North Austin community.” How it started Stuerzenberger said the team began working on the rst Phoebe’s Diner on Oltorf in the summer of 2017 and opened that September. “We got to work,” Stuerzenberger said. “The early days were slow. We had zero marketing budget and built the brand on word of mouth.” Since then, they have opened two more spots in the Austin area including downtown and, most recently, Gracy Farms. The inspiration Named after Stuerzenberger’s daughter, who was born a few weeks before the initial eatery’s opening, Phoebe’s Diner specializes in breakfast
dishes, which Stuerzenberger said he could not get enough of growing up. “Breakfast was a very important meal for our family,” Stuerzenberger said. “Sunday morning was a day where everyone was at home and, more often than not, we all ate breakfast and caught up with each other.” What’s on the menu? The menu consists of a wide range of breakfast choices, from savory dishes such as a variety of eggs Benedicts, smoked beet hash and omelets, to the sweeter side with deep-fried or bananas foster French toast. Snacks and lunch options, including sandwiches, wraps and more, are also available. Looking for a libation? In addition to beer and wine, the bar menu features a curated selection of cocktails such as the sake bloody mary or Texas michelada. Diners can also select from an assortment of mimosas with varying Natalie’s Juice avors—all of which are available by the glass or carafe. Quote of note “The community has really supported us through all the years as word has gotten out,” Stuerzenberger said. “We are excited to now introduce ourselves to the Gracy Farms neigh- borhood, too.”
