CISD approves scal year 2024 25 budget The Conroe ISD board of trustees on Aug. 20 approved the budget for scal year 2024- 25 with a budget shortfall of $11.9 million. What to know The preliminary budget includes an estimated total revenue of $700.05 and estimated expenditures of $711.97 million. The board also adopted a tax rate of $0.9496 per $100 valuation. The budget includes $633.33 million for payroll, but it does not include a pay raise for the 2024-25 scal year. “To all district employees and teachers who are disillusioned because there is no pay raise, ... we haven’t forgotten about you. ... Just please know we will take care of you when we can,” trustee Stacey Chase said.

Lone Star College System passes employee raises Lone Star College System’s board of trustees passed a balanced scal year 2024-25 budget on Aug. 1 that includes an 8% raise for full-time faculty and a 4% raise for other sta†. Long story short LSCS’s FY 2024-25 budget includes $54.4 million in total new revenue. The budget also includes: • $513.1 million each in total revenues and total expenditures • $113.6 million in state revenue, which reŽects a 16% year-over-year increase • $155.5 million in student revenues, which represents an increase of less than 3% year-over-year • A cash reserve balance representing about 32.9% of expenditures

Conroe ISD mulls new medication rules The Conroe ISD board of trustees discussed anticipated changes to the Texas Board of Nurs- ing’s medication administration guidelines for licensed nurses at an Aug. 6 special meeting. The change could potentially require a physician’s note for all medication, o–cials said. What to know Chris McCord, assistant superintendent of operations for the district, told the board of trustees about the expected requirement change that would replace the district’s requirement for dispensing medications that has been in place since 2006. He said on Aug. 6 the change was expected to come out in “a few weeks.” Currently, designated personnel and licensed nurses can administer prescription medications and over-the-counter medications with parental permission.

LSCS o–cials were expected to propose a total tax rate of $0.1076 per $100 valuation for FY 2024- 25, which is the same as this scal year’s tax rate. Final certied property values, which are used to calculate the tax rate, had not been received as of the Aug. 1 meeting.
