The Sylvan to bring 300 homes o Sawdust Road Marquette Companies, an Illinois-based development company, broke ground on a build-to-rent community in The Woodlands area Oct. 10, Marquette ocials said. The J. Beard Real Estate Co. sold 22 acres to Marquette Companies in January for an undisclosed price. The Sylvan, a community composed of 300 housing units on 1941 Sawdust Road, Spring, will be complete by 2025, Marquette ocials said. The details The types of housing units available in the development will include: • 1,495- to 1,805-square-foot single-family homes
Ritz-Carlton plans 8-acre complex
The Ritz-Carlton Residences will open on Lake Woodlands, ocials with development company Howard Hughes announced Oct. 12. “We are pleased to ocially announce The Ritz-Carlton as our brand partner for the private residences in The Woodlands,” said Jim Carman, president of the Houston Region at Howard Hughes, in a news release. The 111 condominium homes will be located on 8 acres in the last large-scale residential site available on Lake Woodlands, according to the news release. According to the release, the development will also include an on-site restaurant and amenities. An exact timeline for opening was not provided as of press time.

What else? Marquette Companies, in collaboration with Montgomery County, has designed a $1.5 million plan for preserving the existing trees on the property, according to a news release. What they’re saying Chris Yuko, managing director of development for Marquette, said the company tried to preserve the natural landscape in The Sylvan development. “We think the abundance of mature trees will attract residents,” he said.
