Projects planned and underway will expand facilities and capacity at Medical City McKinney. The hospital is seeing various facility investments as part of a $1.5 billion capital investment initiative by Medical City Healthcare to implement capital improvements across the healthcare system over a ve-year period, a news release from hospital o cials states. The 311-bed hospital, which saw a new CEO named in mid-2024, has over $190 million in projects planned and underway at its McKinney campus, hospital o cials con rmed. Other recent projects at the McKinney hospital include a $17 million women’s hospital that opened in November 2023 and a $64 million patient tower and ER expansion, which opened in late 2021. 1 Tower, Surgical Services and Women’s services expansion Project: The addition of two stories to the hospital’s east tower and expansions to other areas, increasing the hospital’s bed count by an additional 46 beds and adding more operating rooms and Women’s Services suites. Update: Construction on the tower and surgical services expansion is expected to begin in August, while construction on the Women’s Services expansion is set to begin in early 2026.
