Community updates

1 Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse won the award for the best-decorated booth at this year’s Taste the Town event, where area restaurants made appearances in an effort to win awards for booth decorations and best meals in appetizer, entree and dessert categories. 2 The Signorelli Company, based in The Woodlands, donated $50,000 to the Salvation Army Montgomery County to address deficits the organization experienced after the Christmas season. 3 Interfaith of The Woodlands elected four new individuals to serve on the 2019 Interfaith Board of Directors. Board Chairman Rob Johnson announced the recent appointments of (from left) Rodney Mills, Kerrie Guerrero and Jim Parisi to the board. Father Tom Rafferty, not pictured, was also named to the board. 4 Students from Buckalew Elementary School in Conroe ISD pose for a picture with their submissions from the Western Art Show. 5 Chief Tom Libby (left) and Oak Ridge North police officers (from left) Lt. Doug Barry, Senior Lt. Kent Hubbard and Sgt. Marcus Teske were recognized for promotions during the Jan.14 City Council meeting. 6 Conroe ISD students participated in the Anadarko Senior High Science Bowl on Jan. 25 at Lone Star College-Montgomery, part of the 29th annual SCI://TECH Exposition held by CISD and the nonprofit Education for Tomorrow Alliance.
