Conroe ISD plans 2026 27 academic calendar Community feedback for Conroe ISD’s 2026-27 school year calendar shows support for a start date earlier in August, o cials said. The calendar will receive nal approval in January. The background Hedith Sauceda-Upshaw, the district’s assistant superintendent for teaching and learning, pro- vided an update to the board regarding the rst community survey it conducted for the 2026-27 school year calendar from Nov. 3-11. When Sauceda-Upshaw presented the calendar guidelines Oct. 21, she said it must ful ll several requirements, including having 172-175 instruc- tional days for students and 187 workdays for teachers. TISD approves 2026 27 course catalog changes Junior high and high school students in Tomball ISD will have the option to take new classes during the 2026-27 school year, after trustees approved changes to the district’s course catalog at their Nov. 11 meeting. The big picture Chief Academic O cer Michael Webb presented the changes to the school board during the Nov. 10 workshop meeting. At the junior high school level, the courses Touch Systems Data Entry and College and Career Explo- ration will be removed in place of General Employ- ability Skills, and Crafts will be removed at the high school level, which Webb said has low enrollment. 1 Conroe ISD narrows down zoning scenarios At the Nov. 18 CISD meeting, the board discussed the updated current zoning scenarios being considered for Grand Oaks Junior High School and Kacy Arnold Elementary School, which will be adopted in January. 2 Tomball ISD to approve new atten- dance zones With Tomball West High School opening in 2026, new attendance zones for the district’s other two high schools will be approved in December. 3 Conroe ISD approves 2 companies to manage bond projects The board approved bids for construction for projects including San Jacinto and Rice elementary school additions as well as David and Galatas elementary school additions.

What to know Baumann Nelson, who represents Position 1, was elected in November 2022 for a four-year term that runs through November 2026. On the vacancy, trustees will consider: taking no action, appointing a new member, completing the application and interview process before appointing a new member or calling a special election.
