Rooster Home & Hardware a success, store owner Sharon Anderson said. Anderson bought the store in 2016, then called Gecko Hardware. She knew the store’s previous owner, Andrea Ridout, and decided to step in when the store was facing “some trou- ble.” After purchasing the business, Anderson remodeled and changed the name to Rooster Home & Hardware in honor of George, a rooster who used to live in the store. “He was the star of the store,” Anderson said. “Everyone came to visit him. Eventually, we retired him because I felt bad he was living his whole life in a store.” Anderson, who is

He’s the ‘Mr. Detail Man,’ and then I’m like, ‘I’m going to have painted hats and metal chickens.’” The store oers a large selection of grills, gardening supplies, tools, housewares, toys and beekeeping equipment, Anderson said, adding that most items sold in the store are eco-friendly.
