Lake Houston-area population rises more than 12% over 5-year span
population growth from 2019 to 2024, except for 77345, which saw its population fall by 76 residents, data shows. ZIP code 77044 saw the largest percentage growth in population, adding more than 9,560 residents over ve years. Demographically, the Lake Houston area’s Hispanic population increased by more than 22% during that time frame. Similarly, the area’s Black population increased by roughly 18%, while the area’s white population fell by around 8.5%, census data shows.
The Lake Houston area’s population grew by roughly 12.1% over ve years, rising from 285,668 residents in 2019 to 320,106 residents in 2024, according to U.S. Census Bureau data. On Jan. 29, the U.S. Census Bureau released new ve-year data for 2024 as part of its American Community Survey, which represents a ve-year estimate of the population across the country from 2020 to 2024.
