Kingwood Women’s Club expanding outreach Even after 40 years of volunteering, the King- wood Women’s Club is still aiming to grow and help even more people in need, club President Diane Shreve said. The overview The club has about 160 members who are

The club was originally launched in 1985 by 13 women, said Kathy Adkins, the club’s community liaison and a former president. “[The club] has been everything I thought it could be and 10 times more. ... I think we have done a tremendous service out here,” Adkins said. Looking forward Now, the group’s leaders are focused on expand- ing their eorts by working with new nonprots and hosting more fundraisers, said Ronna Hard- age, the club’s public relations chair. In May, the group hosted its rst food drive, which may be held annually. “[Volunteering] makes you realize how blessed you are,” Hardage said.
