Bridging for Tomorrow This organization offers a food pantry as well as classes for adults and youth programs. • Sample activities: helping in the food pantry, mentoring children in youth programs, tutoring students, leading reading club or peer support group • Donations accepted: monetary donations, nonperishable food items, hygiene items, baby products, cleaning products Hope Center Houston This day center provides basic assistance for adults experiencing homelessness. Services include meals, clothing, showers, laundry, medical assistance, social services, assistance with identification, referrals for addiction recovery, computer access, and weekly Bible studies for men and women. • Sample activities: food service; leading life skills classes; landscape maintenance; registering guests; clothing closet, shower, and laundry monitoring; clothing processing; hosting; and ministry • Donations accepted: monetary donations, travel-size hygiene items, gently-used clothing, backpacks, bus passes, blankets, and sleeping bags • 821 Peakwood Drive, Houston • www.hopecenterhouston.org/volunteer • 5359 W. Hearts of Rescue The nonprofit provides people in need with a chance to shower, a change of clothes and hygiene kits. • Sample activities: setting up service area, checking guests in and out, handing out hygiene kits and attending snack tables • Donations accepted: monetary donations, new hygiene items, new clothing items

Hope’s Path This nonprofit serves men ages 18-28 who have aged out of the foster care system and/or are experiencing homelessness. • Sample activities: mentoring residents, grant writing, housekeeping services, budgeting, landscaping, counseling services and legal counseling • Donations accepted: monetary donations
