Daniel Garcia named principal of CTE center Pugerville ISD ocials announced Oct. 7 that Daniel Garcia, a PfISD educator of 24 years, will become the rst principal of the new Career and Technical Education center, which is set to open in 2027. The details Per the news release, Garcia joined the district in 2000 and has served as principal at both Con- nally High School and Hendrickson High School. Garcia will remain at Connally through the spring 2026 semester, and part of the fall 2026 semester. Diving in deeper Funded by the 2022 bond, the CTE center will be located on about 20 acres of donated land o Wells Branch Parkway and Killingsworth Lane in southeast Pugerville.
Work continues on new HISD high school Work to convert the Hutto ISD Ninth Grade Center into the district’s second comprehen- sive high school is progressing quickly, district ocials said in September. The details Casey Sledge of Sledge Engineering, the rm managing 2023 bond projects for HISD, said site work and grading continues on the site near Destiny Lane. The school is expected to open in August 2027.
The center will house PfISD’s CTE program and oer options such as welding and culinary arts.

According to district ocials, the center will oer programs for veterinary technicians, reghters, construction and welding, an automotive shop, health sciences, culinary arts and more. The center is slated to break ground this fall and open in August 2027 ahead of the 2027-28 school year.

Workforce housing project underway in PfISD An aordable housing project for Pugerville ISD teachers is underway through its Public Facility Corporation. The PfISD board of trustees established a workforce housing PFC to support the project during the Sept. 18 board meeting. The overview The nonprot organization is sponsored by the district, but acts as a separate entity and can
nance, acquire, construct, renovate and repair public facilities. In 2022, voters approved a bond package includ- ing $43.9 million to build aordable housing for educators. The property will include 66 duplexes with a driveway, 36 townhomes with up to four bedrooms and a driveway, and up to 140 apartments with one-, two- and three-bedroom oor plans.
