New school dedicated in Conroe ISD

Conroe ISD honored longtime district educators David and Sheree Suchma at an Oct. 8 dedication ceremony for the newly opened David and Sheree Suchma Elementary School in Conroe. The ceremony featured remarks from Principal Tara Vandermark, CISD Superinten- dent Curtis Null, board of trustees President Datren Williams and the Suchmas along with musical performances by CISD students.

TheWoodlands Pride celebrates second festival The second annual festival organized by nonprofit group The Woodlands Pride was held in Town Green Park on Sept. 28. 3 A festivalgoer dances to music by DJ Athenz at the second Woodlands Pride festival. 4 A crowd gathers to watch the headlining act Can City at the festival Sept. 28.

5 The Woodlands Township received a Gold Medal Award from the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration for its parks department in October. Director of Parks and Recreation Chris Nunes (center) holds the award, flanked by members of The Woodlands Township board of directors at its Oct. 17 meeting. 6 The Woodlands Garden Club celebrated its 25th anniversary Sept. 10 with 55 members. The garden club, open to all residents of The Woodlands area, participates in programs with CISD, creates arrangements for hospice facilities and helps The Woodlands Township with Arbor Day festivities. Officers installed this fall are, from left: Sherry Copeland, Bitsey Crimson, Betty Lahiri and Sharon Podolski.
