2021 was a great year for the stock market. Despite Covid-19 continuing to reinvent itself, the world tried its best to get back to normal. Companies made money, and persistently low interest rates and dovish monetary policy helped expand price to earnings multiples. But as we enter 2022 there are new headwinds for investors to contend with. The Federal Reserve is reversing monetary policy and what was a tail wind will now become a headwind. Asset purchases will be eliminated over the coming months and Fed Funds rates will begin to rise. In addition, it appears that additional fiscal stimulus will not be forthcoming. We also have heightened inflation that may or may not be peaking now. Given the challenges ahead it might be a good time to come in for a visit. Give us a call and let us help you prepare for the year ahead.
