NB Housing Partners, a nonprot organization that works to create aordable housing opportunities for individuals in New Braunfels, is looking to open a transitional housing community for adults preparing to pay market-rate rent in the city. The development—named Pathways Village— is designed to provide short-term housing, but NB Housing Partners is also planning to oer long-term housing on the property for individuals making 80% or less of the average median income, said Kellie Stallings, executive director of NB Housing Partners. The nonprot purchased the 3-acre property in 2023 and did minor renovations to the property’s existing three-bedroom home. In March, the nonprot began oering transitional housing for adults who are ending their homelessness and need more time to nancially prepare to enter the market-rate rent. It will have 50 units with one- to two- bedroom options. Nonprot to bring aordable housing options

Stallings said Pathways Village is meant to be a supportive community environment, which is why they have added the word ‘village’ to the name. She also said the project is a massive expense and that it will take several years to raise the money for it. NB Housing Partners hopes to begin construction for Pathways Village in 2027.
