Judson ISD ranks bids for new elementary school During a special meeting Feb. 8, the Judson ISD board of trustees approved the bid rankings for a new elementary school. The details The rankings included bids from two vendors, with Nunnely General Contractor having the lower bid at $48.38 million. The second bid of $49.9 mil- lion was submitted by D.L. Bandy Constructors. The approval of the rankings allows district administrators to execute contracts and docu- ments related to the elementary school project. Funding for the project will come from bond funds approved by voters in 2022. The estimated cost of the project when the bond passed was around $62 million, meaning the district is coming in slightly under budget, Superintendent Milton “Rob” Fields, III said. SCUCISD opens school year registration Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD’s new and continuing student registration for the 2024-25 school year is now open. The details To register a child at SCUCISD, required documents include: • Proof of residency within the district • Birth certificate • Social Security card • Immunization records • Power of attorney • Residency affidavits • Parent/guardian identification Registration at SCUCISD is online with documents available on the district’s web- site. Pre-K qualification will begin on April 1.

On Feb. 26, the board of trustees discussed the naming of the new elementary school and middle school. The middle school is set to be named on March 21, while the elementary school will be named at a later date.
