WCJC prepares for 80th anniversary celebration Since its founding in 1946, Wharton County Junior College has continued to build on its mis- sion of helping students reach their goals, growing from approximately 200 students to 7,000. The junior college currently spans for campuses and oers more than 40 programs. The celebration To prepare for its 80th anniversary in Septem- ber, the college has prepared a lineup of events. In February, it will hold an employee banquet, followed by a baseball game and tailgate party in March. As for April, a band concert and commu- nity reception will take place, with commence- ment ceremonies in May. Finally, the community celebrations will con- clude with a special volleyball game in September as well as National Night Out and Trunk or Treat events in October.
The junior college oers multiple programs, including dual credit programs as well as adult learning and literacy classes.
