FBISD approves 2026-27 instructional calendar Fort Bend ISD trustees approved a slightly altered calendar for the 2026-27 school year following community feedback. What parents need to know The 2026-27 calendar, approved at the Jan. 29 board meeting, runs from Aug. 11-May 27, 2027, and adds an extra instruction day. The calendar also includes professional learning and teacher planning days embedded throughout the year, where teachers can com- plete their required continuing education hours. The program is open to incoming kinder- garten students with intentions to continue through the fifth grade, officials announced in a Jan. 29 news release. The program aims to help students grow problem-solving skills, expand cultural awareness and prepare for college and future careers, per the release.
