Lebanon Road is being widened from a four- lane roadway to a six-lane roadway to meet the growing demand of travelers. The nearly $23 million project spans FM 423 to Todd Drive and will wrap construction late next year. Construction is actively underway, and ocials are working at improving the existing lanes before adding to them, said Jason Brodigan, Frisco’s Engineering Services director. Lebanon is slated to become a six-lane roadway, according to the city’s thoroughfare plan. Trac growth and demand would be the driving factors behind activating the project now. Other major thoroughfares in Frisco include Main Street, Eldorado Parkway and Custer Road, among others, according to the plan. “We always knew [Lebanon Road] would be [six lanes]. It all ts into our overall plan of how we are going to move people,” Brodigan said.

volume but only a 3% increase in commute time on Lebanon. Brodigan’s team tries to minimize the eects of trac on travel times, he said. In Frisco, Lebanon is about “middle of the road” in terms of trac, he said. Other streets, like FM 423 and Custer Road, will see more drivers, but Lebanon is busier than roads such as PGA Parkway and Panther Creek Parkway, for example.
The number of drivers on Lebanon Road is increasing. In 2022 there were nearly 30,000 driv- ers on the road, which increased to about 33,000 drivers in 2025, according to Frisco’s trac volume map. This number is the threshold that Brodigan said indicates an expansion. “What we’re watching for is the amount of trac, and once it reaches a certain threshold, it’s time to look at widening it,” he said. Ocials have identied a 10% increase in trac
