The Woodlands Township Board of Directors advanced strategic initiatives that strengthen mobility, enhance placemaking and ensure responsible stewardship of Township assets. The Board authorized negotiations for a public- private partnership to develop and operate a nine- hole short course golf complex with associated amenities on the South Gosling Tract, enhancing recreational opportunities and economic vitality. To support regional connectivity, the Board approved service enhancements and a fare adjustment for The Woodlands Express Park and Ride program. Effective April 1, 2026, the round- trip fare will increase from $15 to $17, sustaining high-quality commuter operations. Service improvements include an additional midday return from Downtown Houston to all three park-and-ride locations and a second 3:10 p.m. departure to Sterling Ridge, expanding flexibility for riders seeking earlier return options. Consistent with the Township’s Transit Asset Management Plan, the Board authorized a proactive fleet strategy in advance of receiving 25 new commuter buses and six new trolleys in 2026. Four Town Center Trolleys and 14 commuter buses will be retained beyond useful life benchmarks to preserve operational flexibility and maintain adequate reserve capacity. Remaining vehicles will be disposed of in compliance with Federal Transit Administration policy. The Board also approved a new in-house wrap design plan for The Woodlands Express fleet, aligning with the Energy Corridor branding introduced in 2025. Expanding the Township’s public art footprint, the Board amended its agreement with The Woodlands Waterway Arts Council to support up to eight artist-designed trolley stops featuring digitally printed glass. Privately sponsored installations will further enhance The Woodlands Waterway and surrounding public spaces. To guide future contributions, the Board adopted a comprehensive policy governing memorials, artwork and commemorative donations, establishing clear standards for placement, funding and long-term maintenance.
