For 22 years, locally owned children’s boutique Teacups and Tadpoles has been known as a place where grandparents can go for their grandchil- dren’s presents, owner Caitlin Kawata said. With roots in The Woodlands and a back- ground as a stylist for Stitch Fix, Kawata said when she learned the former Teacups and Tadpoles owner was searching for a new owner to take over, she knew she’d found the perfect opportunity. What they offer At Teacups and Tadpoles, customers can nd children’s clothing ranging from sizes 0-12 with a variety of brands and prices. “We’ve been working on expanding to have brands that are kind of a higher price point and a lower price point. So anybody can walk into the store and nd something that they love for their child,” Kawata said. Carrying over 20 brands, Teacups and Tadpoles sources its boutique items from brands such as Pink Chicken, Lil Cactus, Hollis Baker, Honey and Riley Crease. “We’ve really been searching out brands that still have the same quality but are at a more attainable price point,” Kawata said. “We nd
In addition to clothing, the boutique oers accessories such as children’s shoes, children’s books and toys, including trendy brands such as Jellycats. Staying local Kawata said she is excited to be more involved with the community by hosting several unique events at the store, including some that occur on a monthly basis. On the rst Friday of each month, Teacups and Tadpoles holds free events in which local authors are invited to hold story time for children. In addition, at the end of March, Kawata plans to hold a moms’ night out event featuring Mah- jong instructors in the store along with pizza and wine. She said she also plans to host a silhouette artist at the end of May. Event information will be available on the business’ social media pages. “We are trying to make sure to include a little something for everybody,” Kawata said. Further expanding its community outreach, Teacups and Tadpoles has donated to The John Cooper School gala and plans to collaborate with other local schools in the future, Kawata said.
