SJRA reduces some wholesale water rates Wholesale customers participating in The San Jacinto River Authority Groundwater Reduction Plan can expect lower groundwater and surface water rates after the SJRA board of directors approved a rate order amendment Jan 22. These rates are dierent from the rates to municipal utility districts in The Woodlands for a blend of surface water and groundwater, which are approved separately and were most recently approved in September at $2.73 per 1,000 gallons. What they’re saying “These rate decreases are made possible by a settlement agreement reached with the city of Conroe in 2025 ending their litigation related to the GRP contract,” SJRA General Manager Aubrey Spear said. “Putting this litigation behind us is best for all GRP participants and their rate payers.”

Contractor named for turn lane expansion Shenandoah City Council approved Magnolia-based Roma Construction on Feb. 11 for a $224,494 contract to add a right-turn lane from David Memorial onto westbound Tamina Road to create three lanes, Interim Public Works Director Porras said. Incident management system revised Montgomery County ocials moved to update the county’s National Incident Management System training and reporting plan on Feb. 12. Montgomery County discusses, lines up next $60M road bond sale Montgomery County commissioners will keep the county’s road bond program moving—approving the paperwork needed to launch the next bond sale and laying out a timeline that could put new construction dollars in precincts by early June. GRP participants are comprised of retail water provid- ers such as cities, municipal utility districts and independently owned utilities. The 80 customers are on a GRP Review Com- mittee that meets monthly to discuss expectations and policy recommendations based on the GRP. The recommendations go through the SJRA board of directors for approval.
