The Woodlands Express fare to increase by $2 The Woodlands Township board of directors approved $2 round-trip fare increases and two additional daily runs for The Woodlands Express Park and Ride program at its Feb. 26 meeting. The Woodlands Express provides commuter service to the Texas Medical Center, Greenway Plaza, Energy Corridor and the Central Business District of Houston. The background Ruthanne Haut, director of transportation for The Woodlands Township, proposed the $2 increase for round trips and also requested two additional mid-day runs from Downtown Houston to be added to the service in response to demand. One run will be added to each of the three Park and Ride stops in The Woodlands, and a 3:10 p.m. ride will be added just to the Sawdust Road location. The last time fare increased was in April 2024.
Committee to focus on village centers The Woodlands Township board of directors on Feb. 19 approved a charter for an ad hoc committee that will focus on topics such as monitoring concerns in the village shopping centers. What it means The committee will include three board members and three members of the public. Although it does not have control or inu- ence over the village centers, the committee would help facilitate communication among property owners, merchant associations and residents, according to the township. The committee will remain in eect until the end of the year or until evaluations and discussions on the improvement of village centers are complete, according to the township.

This increase would raise fares from $15 to $17, and it will go into eect April 1. What they’re saying The addition of two runs will also help family members who are leaving the oce to return home earlier in the day than before, Haut said. “There are so many families who would like to take the bus, but they don’t have the exibility. ... I think your attention to that particular mid-day return and 3 p.m. return will make it a lot more comfortable for parents of children to be able to come home in case they need to,” board member Shelley Sekula-Gibbs said.
