What's next

Montgomery County voters will decide whether to approve $480 million in projects countywide on May 3. If approved, funds will be divided among the four commissioner precincts, with each receiving $120 million each to complete projects within their precincts. “We can allow for preparation of the next projects, so when we’ve decided to pull the trigger for the next projects, we’ve got roads that are ready to go,” County Judge Mark Keough said. Early voting in Montgomery County started April 22 and runs until April 29, while election day is May 3. However, a website and email address—roadbond25@mctx. org—has been set up by the county for residents to direct questions to prevent violations of the Texas Open Meetings Act. A public hearing was scheduled after press time April 16 at Community Fieldhouse at 2007 Riley Fuzzel Road in Spring to discuss the viability of a project to extend Townsen Boulevard to Rayford Road as a four-lane road.
