Update: Crews are pouring concrete medians in small segments from Hamilton Pool Road/Bee Cave Parkway to Bee Cave Road. • Timeline: completion of project estimated for spring 2026, weather permitting • Cost: $1.6 million • Funding source: Texas Department of Transportation 3 Wild Cherry/Flint Rock Road traffic signal Project: This project, part of the city’s 2022 transportation bond, includes a new light at the intersection of Wild Cherry Drive and Flint Rock Road. Update: Work is currently underway on the project as of Sept. 15. • Timeline: completion anticipated early 2026 • Cost: $692,449 • Funding source: city of Lakeway 4 Flint Rock Road improvements Project: Flint Rock Road safety improvements include adding shoulders and left-turn lanes, and widening portions of the road to four lanes. Update: Improvements to the road are in various stages of installation as of Sept. 15.

Upcoming projects

1 Bee Creek Road improvements Project: The county is preparing to begin planning, design and construction work for proposed improvements to widen the road to three lanes, with one lane in each direction and a center turn lane. The project will also add a shoulder on both sides of the roadway and a shared-use path on one side of the road. Update: Following public comments that ended in September, the county is preparing a preliminary engineering report. • Timeline: engineering report complete in late 2025, detailed design beginning early 2026 • Cost: $16 million • Funding source: Travis County 2023 Bond Proposition A

2 SH 71 Safety Improvement Project Project: The project is designed to improve safety and mobility by implementing raised medians on Hwy. 71 between Bee Creek Road and Hamilton Pool Road.
