JONES STATE FOREST Located off FM 1488, the W.G. Jones State Forest is one of the nation’s largest urban-managed state forests and one of only five state forests in Texas. Managed by the Texas A&M Forest Service, visitors can ride bikes and horses, bring leashed pets, go fishing and hiking, and bring a picnic to the natural amenity. GLADE ARTS FOUNDATION This fine arts center that opened in April features a museum and an art gallery, offers art classes on a weekly basis and hosts live performing arts

DOSEY DOE BIG BARN This music venue—a 177-year-old barn from Kentucky—offers live music on a daily basis ranging from country and rock to gospel music and jazz. Well-known for its coffee, the venue first opened in 2006 offering both dinner and a show.
