Medical company to fill 216K-square-foot facility United Imaging, a medical imaging technology company, is expanding into a 216,000-square-foot facility in Pearland’s Lower Kirby District amid the city’s efforts to attract more life sciences companies. As part of the development, officials from the Pearland Economic Development Corporation, or PEDC, said in an April 2 news release they anticipate the company to begin initial operations in late 2025 and bring around 185 jobs to the city. Spectrum Blvd., Pearland, will support the company’s manufac- turing, research and warehousing, bringing it closer to the Texas Medical Center, according to the release. New housing community opens

A new subdivision opened in Iowa Colony in April, according to an April 4 news release from developer LGI Homes. The full story Canterra Creek, at 2523 Topaz Hill Lane, Iowa Colony, offers one- and two-story homes with three to four bedrooms each, with homes ranging from around 1,400 to 2,300 square feet, according to the news release. The community also offers multiple pools, a lazy river, walking trails, courts and an exercise facility, among other amenities, officials said. Many of these will be available in the community’s amenities center, which will open up in the summer. Homes start at $302,900, according to the community’s website and go up $385,900.

Pearland’s Lower Kirby District has attracted several medical and pharmaceutical companies over the past decade, Community Impact previ- ously reported. The PEDC has as an incentive agreement with United Imaging to provide assistance contingent on the company bringing new jobs to Pearland and expanding its workforce in the community, PEDC Director of Marketing Melissa Cook said.
