5 parks projects underway in Sugar Land, Missouri City

Sta-Mo Park Project: The project includes the construction of multi- purpose sports fields and courts, a multi-wheeled pump track, shade areas, multi-purpose trails, a playground and the installation of native landscaping. Update: The project is 25% through the design phase. • Timeline: Construction expected to begin this summer. • Cost: $14 million • Funding sources: Missouri City 2021 bond, Fort Bend County parks bond and Texas Parks & Wildlife Project: The project adds a new playground, picnic tables, improves lighting and landscaping, and construction of a sidewalk along Woodvale Drive. Update: Playground, lighting and shade are complete with fencing and landscaping set to finish in spring 2026. • Timeline: March 2025-March 2026 • Cost: $500,000 • Funding source: Missouri City 2021 bond Department Local Parks Grant • 1917 Moore Road, Missouri City Bicentennial Park

Cullinan Park Phase 3 Project: The park’s third phase will bring a Learn, Explore, and Play, or L.E.A.P., area that could feature a public pavilion, wetlands, boardwalks and a tree house. Update: Design for the project is 60% complete. • Timeline: March 2025-spring 2026 (design); TBD (construction) • Cost: $2.5-$3.1 million (construction) • Funding source: Cullinan Park Conservancy fundraising Project: The project includes an open lawn, public art, a playground, picnic pavilions, restrooms, walking paths, parking and a trail connection to Community Park.
