Denton County commissioner seat heads to runoff election
With precincts reporting statewide, several November general election matchups are set, while one local race will head to a runoff election. What you need to know The Republican primary for the Denton County Commissioners Court, Precinct 4 seat will head to a runoff May 26 between David Wylie and Valerie Roehrs. Both candidates failed to get over 50% in the March 3 election, which also included Gerard Hudspeth and incumbent Dianne Edmondson. In the Republican primary for Texas House District 64, incumbent Andy Hopper defeated Lisa McEntire. Hopper will face the Democratic primary winner Julie Evans, who defeated Christie Wood, in the November general election. Incumbent Brandon Gill won his Republican primary against Robert A. Chick and will face Steven Shook, who defeated Ernest R. Lineberger III in the Democratic primary, in the November election.
