District approves funds for new middle school Celina ISD officials have taken another step toward opening its second middle school. The district’s board of trustees approved a $3.485 million purchase for furniture, supplies and more for Willard Middle School in December. The purchase will include general furniture for the campus, Career and Technical Education tools and equip- ment, food service supplies and athletic equipment. Willard Middle School, located in Celina at 1305 Old Glendenning Road, will open with fifth and sixth grade students in the 2026-27 school year. The campus will follow this grade level alignment for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years, then return to a sixth through eighth grade middle school configuration.
CISD officials set max price for 3 new schools Celina ISD is set to have three new elementary schools finish construction before the 2027-28 school year. The district’s board of trustees approved the maximum price for the new school sites in November. Sorting out details The first guaranteed maximum price is for the Uptown school site, which is set at $52.07 million. The board also approved a site work agreement for the campus where the district will spend $7.5 million for the construction of new roads, water, sewer and fiber infrastructure on the Uptown site. The cost of this work will be reimbursed by Uptown Municipal Utility District No. 1 of Collin County within five years.
